HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN JOIN A TOUR?
Our Fossil Experiences require a minimum of 4 guests to depart and our vehicle can seat up to 11 guests + the driver.
WHERE DO THE TOURS DEPART FROM?
Our tours depart from the designated parking area outside the entrance gate to the Nilpena-Ediacara National Park. Booked guests will need to find their own way to the gate and arrive at least 10 minutes prior to departure. Detailed instructions for the departure point are provided in the booking confirmation.
DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE TOURS?
We can offer private tours but they are subject to guide availability, surcharge and are exclusively reserved for guests of the Prairie Hotel. Please contact us for a quote.
WHY DO YOU REFER TO YOUR TOURS AS 'EXTENDED' FOSSIL TOURS?
All tours booked through Nilpena Ediacara Tours include a visit to the fossil beds found in-situ, where they were discovered and are still actively being researched, in addition to visiting the interactive fossil display and light show at the Nilpena-Ediacara National Park Visitor Precinct. We do not offer tours that visit the Visitor Precinct only. Our story is so intrinsically connected to the fossil beds themselves that we are passionate about sharing them with you.
CAN I VISIT THE FOSSILS ON MY OWN?
In order to best protect and conserve the fossil sites, access to Nilpena-Ediacara National Park is restricted only to guests on guided tours like ours.
IS THERE ACCOMMODATION NEAR THE FOSSILS?
The closest accommodation to Nilpena Ediacara National Park is the iconic Prairie Hotel which offers Flinders Ranges Accommodation packages including regional dining, and Parachilna Overflow Accommodation which offers self-contained budget accommodation.
